Yesterday's "Bobblehead Quiz" seemed to be fun for a lot of posters. It got me to thinking, which as Mrs. Zeke will always tell you, is a dangerous thing.
I wondered what pieces of Cubs memorabilia BCBers had and might be willing to share with others (in a figurative sense).
As we begin a new year staring at the snow while waiting for the Cubs Convention to begin in two weeks, I'll start with one of my favorites.
In 1985, my brother gave me a Cubs pennant. Not just any pennant, mind you, but a 1984 Cubs World Series pennant. Never mind that they didn't make it to the WS. It was an awesome gift.
I had it hanging on my bedroom armoire for years, and a few seasons ago, I got Ryne Sanberg to autograph it when he brought his Peoria Chiefs to town to play the Lansing Lugnuts. Ryne took a long look it it when I handed it to him, looked up at me, and then signed it. I don't know whether he was being nostalgic a bit, or if he thought I was being a smart ass. I wasn't.
It still hangs in my bedroom today. Photos are below.
So what are YOUR cherished pieces of Cubs memorabilia?
