It is reassuring about Gray. Parker is still so new to pitching that I think he could develop better control with more innings in AAA, and help the club by the end of the year.
I see Mitch Atkins on the Kevin Hart track: let him succeed in AAA, call him up for a few starts at some point, then deal him for a player who doesn’t take up space on the 40-man roster. Not surprising that the guy who throws softest has the best control.
Fontenot (fon-te-no): Cajun for "scrappy"
Atkins might get some starts in spring training.
There are more than the usual # of split-squad games this year. That being the case, give him some exposure, maybe someone will deal for him before the end of ST.
