BCB Bowl Picks Challenge
I know it is a little early for this (the games don't start for another 11 days, on December 19th), but with the holidays and inevitable quirkiness with work schedules and the like, i wanted everybody to get the chance to participate.
I've set up a "College Bowl Mania" private group on ESPN.com for BCBers. The group name is "Bleed Cubbie Blue" and the password is "soto". You can access the group here:
http://games.espn.go.com/bowlmania/en/group?groupID=14982
I've elected to make this group's picks confidence based, meaning you must not only choose a winner for each game, but rank them 1 - 34 based on how sure you are of that particular outcome. If anybody wishes to participate but needs help registering for the group (or ESPN) or with making their picks in ESPN's system, just let me know and i'd be happy to help.

Hey, I have one of those too in Spartan Green!
Now only 12,859 on the "Cubs Season Tickets Waiting List"...
That's funny
that’s how many of the people I know that went to Iowa think they’re like now.

Also of note...
The Big 10 blog I write for (The Rivalry, Esq.) will be having a bowl predictions contest shortly. I’ll post an OT fanpost when we have it up…
Is it okay
If we have multiple entries? I made two because I’m testing out a new formula… if we’re only allowed one entry, then just remove my second one from the group…
If you'd like to enter 100000 times, i'm cool with it.
And if one of your 100000 entries wins, i’ll still send you the prize: invisible nothing.
Congrats!

Yes well
everyone knows invisible nothingness and BCB dignity are sooo valuable. Didn’t want to be seen as though I was cheating :)
can i trade the invisible nothing for a $1 good only at the BCB store?
baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out
You'll have to take that up with managment.
I anxiously await the reasonable trading of Milton Bradley.

Any chance i could get a few of you to rec this post...
… so it sticks on the front page a bit longer, hopefully for the next week or so until the bowls are nearly ready to start?
Gotta believe there are a few people who might want to participate, but won’t be stopping by BCB till the Bradley trade goes down.

You're right.
You might have good luck putting them on a dart board and just throwing darts.

Just made my picks - figured I'd wait til the end to take advantage of all available information...
…then went with my gut anyway. ;-)
Actually, fwiw – I submitted 3 entries
ballhawk ken gut instinct - went with my gut
ballhawk ken norms – took all the favorites (based on pct pick from all the entries), then ranked them according to the conf factor listed for the teams picked.
ballhawk sabermagicians – went strictly by the numbers. looked at team records first. if those were equal, then used Top 25 rankings. If neither team was ranked, then went by pct picked. Purely scientific. As for the confidence factors, I stayed with the order they were already listed. I mean, who better to trust than ESPN???
