Bradley for Burrell deal still in talks

From our favorite site, but confirmed on Cubs.com:

There's a few other Cubs' rumors on that link from mlbtraderumors.com as well.

Burrell hit .221 with a .315 OBP 14 HRs 64 RBIs .367 SLG .682 OPS

 57 BBs 119 Ks

I think I'd rather just keep Bradley if Burrell is the best option (not saying he is).

I haven't figured out how to quote text, though it's probably just an HTML thing. maybe next time. Anyway, seventy-five words, seventy-five words, seventy-five words.

Old news, unfortunately.

There’s nothing in there we didn’t know at 8 pm last night.

Yeah, I know

I just didn’t see anything here, at least not in the form of a fanpost.

Highlight it, copy it, past it, then highlight it again. Then hit the little quotation marks thing and you’re done.

Pat Burrell Fever

Personally, I can’t wait to acquire Burrell to DH for us in interleague games !!!!

I want to puke. I hate Jim Hendry. He dug a massive hole with all these AWFUL friggin free agent signings and the poor fat man with the jelly donut stains on his shirt can’t manage to claw himself out.

Please o’ please Tom Ricketts grow a pair and fire Hendry NOW.

The Blackhawks and the Stanley Cup in 2010.

And exactly what would that solve?

Nothing. Ricketts would then have to spend a month interviewing candidates to take over, and meanwhile the trading and free agent season would be passing the Cubs by.

Ricketts is doing the right thing. He is allowing Hendry to fix his own mess. If he fails to do that, I have no issue with Hendry being fired after the 2010 season.

Further, again, all you have done here is bitch, and you didn’t pay any attention to the likelihood that the Burrell deal is probably dead.

Allow me to let you in on a dirty little secret

Regardless who sits in the GM seat, the trading and free agent season is going to pass the Cubs by regardless. Why, pray tell? Because Jim Hendry has so boxed this organization into a corner that there is little to do than swap out Milton Bradley for somebody else’s garbage and pray like hell that Mike Friggin Cameron won’t be too demanding in contract discussion.

So regardless whether Hendry is the GM or not, this team shall enter next season having let the contracts of Harden and Gregg unwind while dumping the awful Heilman and the toxic Bradley and maybe, just maybe, picking up another ancient deficiency-laden outfielder to go with our wondrous collection of the Guess Hitting Hack and the Japanese Import who costs insanely too much for being a So Taguchi impersonator.

The Blackhawks and the Stanley Cup in 2010.

Well, I never heard it before, but it sounds uncommon nonsense.
