Chicago Cubs fans treated to a free spring training practice

The Chicago Cubs have planned a free public practice next week at Hohokam Stadium from 9:30 a.m. to noon. I'm thinking the date is February 24. source

Interesting concept.

You can already watch free practices at Fitch Park every day; I think this is the first time they have done this kind of thing at Ho Ho Kam. The date does appear to be next Tuesday, 2/24, the day before the first exhibition game.

What's the difference?,

you could just see them practice this week for free at Fitch Park?

Sounds like the one next week is going to be more organized...

… maybe they’ll have an intrasquad game or something like that.

The press release about this was sketchy

"Every team will win 60 games, every team will lose 60 games, it's what the team does in the other 42 games that decides the season."

I'll see if I can get more info.

Update...

… this will be the team’s first Ho Ho Kam workout. They do expect to be on the field at 9:30 am. Admission is free. So… the original link had all the details correct.

A little more info on Spring Training work outs

per a friend in AZ
"typically the regulars (i.e. the 25 man roster players) work out at the stadium and the rest of the 40 man roster, minor leaguers and non-roster invitees work out at the practice field (in this case Fitch Park). This is true at all the Cactus League facility "
