Good news for Derrek Lee
In this article about Lee not playing in the WBC, we find this note:
On an even brighter note, Lee said it's almost 100 percent certain that his daughter, Jada, does not suffer from LCA, the congenital eye disease that causes blindness. Lee said Jada's vision began to stabilize last year and that perhaps she suffers from an auto-immune disorder. Needless to say, that's a big relief for Lee.

Project 3000 continues...
… and as far as I know, D-Lee is still involved in it.

this is double good news
if he continues even after his daughter is said to be ok, shows the class that DLee is as a person.

That's good news for DLee.
Here’s the Project 3000 Web site, on which DLee explicitly states that his charitable work will go on. (This was brought up in a thread last week.)

And that's why we are going to continue...
… the T-shirt sales for benefit of Project 3000. Click here for details. Get yourself a 2009 BCB shirt and know that $8 of every purchase goes to Project 3000. Last year BCB readers gave over $1000 to this worthy cause.

Is what Jada suffers from a reversible malady then?
Oh but I will pray that it is .. any opthalmic specialist Cub fans who could comment?
By the way, any financial planner Cub fans agree with my employer, the Whirlpool Corporation’s sense that the downward plunge won’t bottom out until about August or so?
Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!
