Cubs Double A Ball, any BCB'er Cub Fans? Let's hook up!

Seeing how the economy is going to tank long into this year, no matter WHAT the government does or says (don't get me started), travelling to the Friendly Confines rapidly has become for this poor old Cub fan one that has just become too expensive.  I used to get really, well, BLUE about this because there's few things in life I love or long for more than to BE home in Chicago watching our boys at Cubs Park do their thing.

So I'm probably going to start going to the Cubs' Double A operation here in East Tennessee, the Smokies which - mercifully - are only about an hour or so away with tickets being a whole lot more affordable. Carolinacub has suggested a hook up with me and I was just wondering if other BCB'ers would like to maybe consider one with us. I'd only be able to get to Friday night or Saturday games, but I think it would be a blast.

Guess I'll have to dig up their schedule and look, but I think it would be so cool to see any of the Cub Nation who reside in this neck of the world .. Hope to hear from y'uns .. (I learned that from having lived here)

Trolling for hookups on the internet usually gets you into trouble...

just sayin’

As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

Best Thing about the chiefs...

That you can get a front row ticket for like $15, and beer is relatively cheap. I had season tickets like 2 years ago and never went… felt bad, but good that I was helping pay for Ryno’s salary.

went and saw the chiefs play 3 years ago

on memorial day. Prior was starting on a rehab assignment, got lit up like a 45 year old’s birthday cake. but it was half price monday, so we were on the first base line for 5 bucks, and our group put 50 bucks toward a 50/50 and won! so much fun, such a different experience than going to a major league game, but still so much fun.

We always go when they play the mudcats here in eastern NC,

I live in Greenville, NC and the mudcats play about an hour west of here.

I See the Smokies in Jackson

I see the Smokies two times a year at Pringles Park in West Tenn (Jackson). I saw the Diamond Jaxx five to six times a year, when they were affiliated with the Cubs.

Glad you remembered

Have you seen the schedule yet, I’ve been too lazy to look.

I plan on going to watch the Smokies...

…play the Biscuits at the end of June this year. I am in the military and I just moved near Montgomery so I am planning on buying tickets for the June 22 – June 27 games. I am hoping I can get near the Cubs dugout and get an autograph from Ryno before one of the games. I just came from Albuquerque where I got to watch a few of the Iowa games with Murton, Pie, and E Patt playing. Remember those guys? lol. I also got to attend the AAA All-Star game and Home run derby. At the time, my 10 year old son caught a foul ball and it took his glove off his hand.

On another note, I am planning a family vacation in Atlanta on the first week of June. I want to get tickets to the Cubs-Braves games then. Does anyone know when the Braves tickets go on sale?

Does Soriano's defense at 2B really cost more runs than in LF? He makes a lot fewer errors in LF since misplays and mental mistakes aren't figured into the stats, but I have to imagine that his mistakes are more physical at 2B. Any thoughts? Is there a statistic on this?
