Question about 87' Bill Murray Game
Since we are on the eve of the first ST game, I was just wondering what the best way was for myself to obtain a copy of the broadcast of Bill Murray announcing the Cubs-Expos game when Harry went down with a stroke and health issues. I obviously would accept any advice as I know it is posted rarely on youtube but gets taken down quickly. I appreciate any advice all could give. Also, does anyone have any idea of the schedule for spring training games that are televised for the cubs?

Apparently, you didn't read today's post.
There is a FanShot on THIS EXACT TOPIC that was posted today. This wasn’t worth a post — it should be a comment under that FanShot.

apparently
Al, I got the fanpost and its of the first nine minutes or so of the game. I was asking for the specific full game on dvd or other form of media. I am sorry if there was confusion. I will wait for more replies, and yes I read your well put article today on what should and shouldn’t be a post. I tried to adhere to that as best I could and ask these great fans their advice, did not expect to upset anyone.

Not upset
And I agree that sometimes we all jump down guys throats for fan post /shot infractions. But seriously, do you think that this topic (Asking for leads for where to find a DVD video of a game) will generate that much discussion? I figure there is someone who either knows where to get it — or its simply not available. I just don’t see this going very far down the Fan Post road. I bet if this game is available there is probably only one or two guys on here that know where to get it, so as a Fan Shot you still could get an answer. Just sayin’ — and trying not to be rude or mean about it — just logical.

Right, but...
… since this game was already being discussed, your question is a logical extension — “only 9 minutes, where can I get the full DVD?”
I hope you see what I mean and just trying to avoid clutter on a busy site.

The root of the problem...
…in my mind is that when someone wants to ask a question, they want to get the max amount of visibility so they have a chance of getting an answer. Posting a question in a comment thread makes it less likely to get answered.

I suppose.
If we did that for every question, we’d quickly be overrun by posts. This is a way of trying to control that.

You can't get a legal copy
MLB does not allow that, you can watch it at Museum of Broadcasting. According to a friend of mine it is the most requested title for viewing.

thats great just to clarify, is that a website? Museum of Broadcasting? I appreciate any feedback and now I know silly things like this topic should go under fanshot. Thanks to all and keep the suggestions coming.

sometimes it is best
to post something like this as a comment to a thread that was started recently to keep the topics tied together.
"I like coconuts, you can break them open and they smell like ladies lying in the sun" Widespread Panic
Here is a brief clip of the game
I advise you watch it soon or download it before MLB or WGN gets word of this link
thanks
yeah I have seen this clip also and thanks for highlighting it. I have used google for this as well. Just thought someone here might be able to point me in a direction that is not down the beaten path of internet searching.

If you search long enough
I’ve seen most of the Murray clips on You Tube. There should be no less than 3 or 4 depending on if MLB or WGN pulled them.
