OK by me.

Costas always called a good game.

Great Move By MLB Network

I’ll miss his “Costas Now” HBO show, but I’m glad he’ll be with MLB Network. At least, he won’t be teamed with Bob Uecker and Joe Morgan with MLB like he was with NBC during the 1990’s. I still miss that Costas-Tony Kubek tandem during the 1980’s on NBC.

Wow, they're bringing in the heavy hitters for the regular season.

Cool.

Jan 1

I figured I’d lose MLB Network at the turn of the new year but here we are in Feb now and I still have it and am enjoying it! I know there was a post in Dec about this but I was wondering if anyone has any more info on whether or not we’ll have to pay for this once ST or the season starts?

To add to this, no I don’t have any sports packages, NFL network, NHL network, etc. I do have HD but MLB is only on 410 to my knowledge.

MLB On Regular Digital Package

Many cable companies have the NFL and NHL networks and NBA TV on a special digital sports tier. The MLB Network must be carried on a regular digital programming tier by agreement with Comcast and other cable carriers. BBC America, the Biography Channel, and the Science Channel are usually picked up on regular digital programming tiers. You would not have to subscribe to a digital sports tier to get MLB Network.

Does anyone know if/when MLB Network's HD channel will be on Comcast Chicago?

In Denver

Comcast has it in a package along the NFL, NHL, etc. I decided the extra $6 per month wasn’t worth it.

OT: Why not delorean88?

Ok, I’m sure it’s because you had one, but I had to ask.

Good question

I was born in 80 and I use that username for other websites as well because delorean88 is normally already taken, so it just became default.

what games will they carry?

Erm, well if we are going to call Milton Bradley nicknames, mine is Fischer Price: yes, you heard it here first..

Soccer.

about dish network. .

Does anyone know any updated status regarding the MLB network and Dish? I put in a request for it with them within the first week of MLB going on the air. I really want this channel!

me too ..

i don’t remember what the big hoo hah was about Dish vs DirecTV in terms of picking up the network, but if I recall correctly, it sounded like the typical power play ..

I like Costas

I seem to remember a great story about how he always carry’s a Micky Mantle card in his pocket. It’s been quite a while but if I remember correctly he has done this since he was a kid and on one of the talk shows he was on he pulled it out to prove the truth of the story.

If the world didn't suck we would all fall off.

Seriously...

Am I the only guy who doesn’t like this move? I was fairly indifferent to MLB network before, but Costas, in my opinion, is annoying to listen to. Only makes me more adverse to watching that station.

I wouldn't say I LOVE Costas...

…he can be a bit smarmy at times, but he’s a pro and a hell of a lot better than, say, Joe Morgan. And it would take some egregiously annoying broadcasters to sway me from watching a 24-hour baseball station.
