(I hope I did the link correctly)

Has anyone ever ran this 5k? Now that I'm living in Chicago, I'm thinking about doing it. I figure it's for a good cause and involves the Cubbies.

I was wondering where the race concludes. Do you run through the stadium? Do you run on the field?

Thanks for your help.

I have ran it once.

I ran the Race to Wrigley in 2007. I am not an avid runner, but I had a great time. A bunch of people were in the race, which started in front of the Mcdonalds going west on Addison. We finished running south on Clark and turned onto Waveland and entered the Wrigley Field concourse through the doors accross from the Firestation. You continued down the concourse and finish underneath the Marquee.

You do not get to run on the field at all. Several bars do have drink specials for runners after the race. Wayne Messmer sang the National Anthem at the start, the brass band played throughout the race, and it just felt good to start the season this way.

Many pictures were posted online of the race, and you could search for each runner by their number. There was only one picture of me and my wife, as were in the middle of the pack and did not finish very quickly. A friend that finished pretty high up there had several pictures of him online.

We plan on running it again this year, and can’t wait. I hope you decide to run it and support the good cause. Good Luck and Have Fun!

Thanks Heldtski.

I think because of your post I am going to commit to running it too. Initially I was really interested because of the thought of running onto the field to finish (ala the running of the bulls in Pamplona). But you’re right, it’s for a good cause and a good way to kick off the season.

I'll see you there.

This will be my first Race to Wrigley too, but I’m using it as a tune-up for a 13-miler, so I thought I’d sign up.

I ran it last year

It was well run, a TON of people and a great time. Definitely recommend it.
