Paul Sullivan passes along the rumor in this link.

What say you, Cub fans? Crane Kenney or Sandy Alderson, or both?

Tom Ricketts is going to hire his own person

Hence why I think Crane Kenney will soon be gone. Whether Sandy Alderson is somebody that makes sense, I have no idea. I put very little into the “speculation” this is the backbone of Paul Sullivan “reporting.”

Yep

I like Crane Kenney just fine, and maybe he gets an interview, but he’s no lock.

Well...

The Ricketts family spends $900 million on the Cubs and it is logical to expect them to install their own management team. I think Crane Kenney is as good as gone. Not because of his performance, but rather because Ricketts will want to put his own stamp on things. Besides, I’m not sure even Cub insiders could tell you with precision what Kenney has actually been accountable for the past couple of years during the Tribune-Zell transition period. Kenney is a bit of a paper tiger by all accounts.

Also, don’t be so sure Jim Hendry is long for the Cub organization either. Even with his extension it may be the case that Tom Ricketts and his new team President will go their own way with things.

Yes, there's a chance Hendry goes, too

But, I’d have to think that Ricketts is going to take a look at the state of things. I’m not always in agreement with Hendry’s moves (sometimes I’m right, sometimes not), but on the surface, the organization seems to be on the most solid ground since Green was shoved out. That bears thinking about before making wholesale changes.

I don't disagree

I think Jim Hendry will be fairly and subjectively evaluated. Whether he stays with the Cubs I have no idea.

A little birdie with some knowledge

Tells me Hendry is in no danger. There is a big Nebraska connection with the Ricketts. I don’t know about Kenny

My guess is that Ricketts leaves status quo for a while.

The team is successful off the field. It’s been successful on the field (well, at least until October) the last two years. Assuming it does so again this year — and moves past the first round of the playoffs — why would you screw with that?

Better player development and drafts

If Hendry stay, he’s got to improve in these areas.

Agreed.

What Ricketts can do to improve that area is to give Hendry help. The Cubs have a very small fulltime scouting staff, and need more, not necessarily replacements, but reinforcements.

Dear God no.

As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

Speculation and rumor.

Sullivan even admits so.

Does Soriano's defense at 2B really cost more runs than in LF? He makes a lot fewer errors in LF since misplays and mental mistakes aren't figured into the stats, but I have to imagine that his mistakes are more physical at 2B. Any thoughts? Is there a statistic on this?
