I've always been a fan of D. Lee, but this is getting silly.
M. Hoffpauir is proving that he deserves that job at 1st base.
I know Lee usually starts off slow, and he's got the big contract and the experience to be a true leader for the Cubs. But Hoffpauir isn't just a minor leaguer anymore. He's proven at every level that he can play. Most important he has the kind of power you need to get from a corner infielder on a MLB contending team.
I'm sorry for Lee, but this should be a dead heat. Hoffpauir deserves to be starting as much as Sean Marshall does.
Hoffs Spring Numbers: AB: 60, Hits: 17, Avg: 283, SLG: 550, RBI: 17, HR: 4
Lee's Spring Numbers: AB: 28, Hits: 5, Avg: 179, SLG: 214, RBI: 2, HR: 0
Prove I'm wrong.
