Let's get Hanley and let him grow his hair!
The Marlins made Hanley Ramirez cut his hair and he says he wants to be traded.....I'm sure it'll blow over, but jeez, he'd made a nice addition to the infield, whatever 'do he happened to have!

I wonder if the BoSox would still make that trade.
On one hand Hanley is by far the better player. On the other Beckett almost won the World Series by himself.

The Sox already had him
He went over to the Marlins in the Beckett trade. That’s tough for them though because their whole club is built around him.

That's what I'm asking. Would they still trade Hanley for Beckett
Knowing what they know now.

Other key players involved: Red Sox also got Mike Lowell, Marlins got Anibal Sanchez

So what's your answer to the aforementioned question?

I'd vote for yes
You can’t take away the WS win.

Benefit of hindsight
Certainly impacts perceptions (at the time, Hanley was a highly talented kid who had stagnated a bit), but Boston knows that you go after top pitching, and I think they still make that trade. Jed Lowrie should be a decent-solid player for them at short.

I dont think the Marlins would accept the entire franchise, top to bottom, for him
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
