I heard a little bit about this story on the radio this morning.
One of the details that really sticks out to me is the following:
Blagojevich’s telephone log shows several calls to members of the team, including manager Lou Piniella, coach Larry Rothschild and John McDonough, the team’s former president who is now with the Chicago Blackhawks.
GRod talking to Sweet Lou? Now there’s an SNL skit in the making. And what the hell was he asking Larry Rothschild to do? “Damnit, Larry. First-pitch fastballs are f**king golden and I want your f**king guys to throw more of them!”

Yeah, I was surprised by that part, too
“Hey, Lou, it’s Rod … You know, Rod Blagojevich, the governor of Illinois … No, no, it’s pronounced BLAH-GO-YE-VICH … So anyways, I hear that power pitching is king…”

I heard the state
called it “Project Elwood” after the address Elwood BLues gave to the Nazis in Blues Brothers. Nice touch even if they are all scum sucking rodents that should spend many horribly unpleasant years behind bars.

Or at least halfway decent taste in movie references.

Zell wanted a new park?
Did we already know that? I don’t recall.

I actually don't recall having heard that before.
Hey, at least GRod’s heart was in the right place. Sorta.
