Around SBN: 2012 Africa Cup Of Nations Final

Another step forward to better Octobers - "Frank TV" has been canceled, although apparently he will keep doing bits for Fox Sports.

I think we can all rest easier during the regular season without the specter of Frank TV commercials lying in wait in October.

They'll think of some other lame show to promote.

The cancellation does not surprise me one bit. I never watched the show, but the promos made it look really awful.

Given that you seemingly couldn't watch any baseball games last year

Without having to see Frank’s laughable – in the bad way – Jerry Seinfeld impression, I’d say this is baseball news.

Agreed, but...

… it could have also had OT: attached to it.

I considered that

… but it seemed that the relevance was fairly apparent to Cubs fans after the additional pain and suffering inflicted by Frank Calliendo in two already difficult weeks in our lives.

No doubt about that.

I never watched the show, but it appeared from the promos that Frank Caliendo is one of the least talented individuals to ever have a TV show. And that’s saying a lot.

I watched it once

My wife expected it to be really funny.

We were stunned…STUNNED I tell you…by how awful it was. Not funny at all.

My thoughts exactly

One of the worst shows I have ever seen…and that’s not hyperbole.

life goes on...

Frank will have to live for his 3 minute spots picking football games for Fox for 20+ weeks during the NFL season. That is about all I can take of him.

What will be the new TNT show promo? My guess is that it either involves the octo-mom or Tyra Banks.

I'll only cheer if this means

Dick Stockton will never announce another game.

i agree whole-heartedly....

but it is a bit early to be thinking of october baseball, isnt it?

Oh Baby!

Oh I'm not worried about Oct yet

I just keep hoping one of these fanshots will be “Dick Stockton axed by whomever”… because he made my ears bleed worse than my heart hurt from the games themselves.

Oh happy day!

OH HAPPY DAY! OH HAPPY DAY!

That had to be the worst show in tv history not starring Jim Belushi.

At least when we get swept this season (joking)

we won’t have to watch Frank TV while we watch our team implode.

that

isn’t even anything to joke about. Not one bit humorous.

I dont care who the new owner is as long as he/she/them come equipped with a Jake Peavy and a Joe Beimel!!!

Don't worry...

Tyler Perry’s working on a new show. In case you didn’t see those other commercials for House of Payne. I mean, it is the number 1 comedy of all-time*.

frank

just the constant commercials made me stay away.

Frank is funny

His stand up is hilarious but that show was annoying.

And Belushi can’t be that bad he’s a Cubs fan.

by Steve Sax on Mar 7, 2009 7:47 AM CST reply actions

Belushi is only a Cubs fan when

they are on national TV or he’s got something to promote -

by doofus cubs guy on Mar 7, 2009 12:32 PM CST up reply actions

Belushi

Is a lifelong Cubs fan and has been before he became famous. Did you see him doing rallies in Philly after the WS? No. Cubs only.

by Steve Sax on Mar 7, 2009 5:29 PM CST reply actions

I watched Frank TV...once

And it was AWFUL. Frank Caliendo is funny in doses. He needs to stick to doing guest appearances on late night TV and the bits he does on the NFL pregame shows.

Thanks Al

I was just being a wise ass. I admit that it’s something I should be more mindful of.
