OT: BCB opening day meet?

i was just curious who all is going to be going to opening day this year. i've been on this board for 3 years and have yet to meet a fellow bcb'er. is there a meet planned anywhere? is there any interest in one? logistically it could be pretty easy, there is a bar right across from the first base entrance. (for some reason at the juicebox the visitor's side is 3rd base). it's a split level bar, the name escapes me at the moment but it's right across crawford street. it would be ideal.

Cool idea

Cool idea. Not sure how my plans shape up that day yet as I work for an accountant and our big day is Wednesday. I am getting time off to go to game but might just make it and I have to return to work immediately after.

My friend had his heart transplant on 3/21. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Uh...

You realize the game’s in Houston, right?

OT about Mike and Mike

I can’t imagine the pain Golic will be in getting his legs waxed. I’m actually pretty surprised that, that was their bet for the bracket challange.

OUCH!

Nope, its no kidding

Golic has been trying to get out of it ever since L-ville beat AZ to just about clinch it for Greenie.

listening to Golic cost me my bracket this year. Since I don’t follow college hoops I’ve relied on a hybrid of their brackets the past 3 years to cash-in on my fellow bracket boys. This year, I took Duke over ’nova and it cost me. So….I hope Golic gets waxed and but good.

Golic admits to filling out multiple brackets for the different pools he is in

Picks one to be used for this. So personally I don’t think I’d trust his.

I use his input on the bracket

he fills out in the head-to-head with Greenie. Since there’s always “something” on the line between the two (I have to see this waxing and compare to the 40-yr old virgin), I figure it’s one of his more honorable brackets.

B.U.S. in Hosuton across the street from Minute Maid

is where I will be pre game on Monday. It is the one bar that becomes a “Cubs Bar” when the Cubs are in town. I love that place!

I will be there

Havent been to Minute Maid since 06. Its actually Texas St, Crawford St is in left field, sort of like Waveland. Texas is down the third base side. That bar is across the street from the home plate entrance. I dont know the name. Its a good meeting place.

A lil trick I use is, if you want to enter the park as soon as the gates open or right at game time when the lines are the longest, go in the restuarant just below the home plate entrance, no line, they scan your ticket then just walk through the restaurant into the stadium. It takes you two minutes rather than waiting in line for 20+.

The B.U.S.

stands for Bar at Union Station. The location of MM is the old location for their Union Station when they had a train that came thru (not including the light rail). That is also why they have the train on the LF wall.

I emailed you my info, there seems to be three or four of us so far who will be there. I will be proudly sporting my BCB shirt and Zambrano jersey
