I think it is awesome
I hate going from site to site to get Chicago sports info. Now I only have to go to one place. the problem is… its espn
Wow!!
I have to give credit where it’s due. That is an awesome site. If I’m going to rip ESPN as often as I do for gushing over teams and fans from New York, Boston, and Philly, then in fairness, I have to give them credit for this. And if it’s true that Chicago is the first city they did this for, then all props to them, but I’m amazed. For all I could tell, ESPN is still coming to grips with westward expansion in this country, even though it began in the eighteenth century.

It's funny that
when the HuffingtonPost decided to have it’s first “one location” page, it chose Chicago first as well. I guess that means we’re just awesome.

The old adage
“…if it plays in Peoria…..”
Apparently, has been changed to " in Chicago."

Even the Chicago Fire is on there
Sadly though, for you 5 AFL fans left, no Rush.

no wps either
or major league lacross
bonus points if you know what the wps is.
It's not about money. It's about winning and getting over the hump. We've had the appetizer now, but we left the main course on the table.

That FIRST Pro Woman's soccer league
failed everywhere but in the San Diego market. The “Spirit” played to over 9K per game at the University Of San Diego Stadium. (9K was capacity)
So much money was poured into that league (WUSA) by Cox Communications, Time Warner, and other big companies — right after the Olympic competition, it seemed like they were catching lightning in a bottle.
But the league was an utter failure, save for the SD market. The USD Stadium was dubbed the “Fenway Park” of pro soccer because of its’ intimacy. (“Wrigley Field” would have been a much more accurate description, but that’s another story.)
The WPS seems to be starting with smaller aspirations.
What this missive has to do with ESPN, I have no idea, but………
