New Yankee Stadium serving up cheap HR's???
It looks as though someone may have over-looked a wind study at the Yankees new $1.5 billion palace.
This is kinda funny, especially after reading here on BCB a week or so ago, that workers had over-looked a net blocking YES cameras.
Also, at the end of this game recap, it says there were long stretches of empty chairs in the "Legend Suite" seats which cost between $500 and $2,625 per game -- AND -- The Yankees still have not recorded an attendance north of 50,000 -- I LOVE IT!!!

not sure if you can say that the stadium is
since the Yankees are not hitting them as much as the visiting team is

Actually...
…the Indians have hit 9 HRs while the Yankees have hit 8 — a total of 17 HR in 3 official games.

Two (maybe three) have been one-handed homers.

A few of those HR today looked particularly effortless. . .

Just because
no one was in the seats doesn’t mean they weren’t paid for.
Most teams can only dream about the revenue that palace is gonna bring.

Many of those seats were NOT paid for.
Those aren’t sold on a season basis. You can buy them online — someone here called up a few for one of the Cub games, complete with $59 fees each.
The “sold out” opening day crowd of about 48,000 was about 4,000 under the listed capacity.

Hmmm....
I read that those seats are sold in 3,5,7 and 10 year commitments.
But if you know someone who picked those seats up, then the Yankees must have changed their policy and opened them to individual sales.

That article says...
… they have “commitments”. Doesn’t say those seats were paid for. I still wonder why the “sellout” was 4,000 or so below the listed capacity.

Why are games billed "sell-outs"...
…when the listed capacity is not hit? Is there a percentage of capacity that earns the title of sell-out?

I think it would be pretty fitting
if the yankees spent $1.5 billion for a band box!
Hey, it's a new century!
