Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

LaRussa: keeping the bullpen to the last third of the game--When that doesn't happen, it's a problem.

STL Post Dispatch Stress on the bullpen means the Cardinals will likely recall their fourth pitcher this week from Class AAA Memphis before Sunday's series finale. Saturday left the bullpen with 25 innings in the last five games. Of their five defeats, the Cardinals have lost once in the ninth inning and another time after dropping a pair of two-run leads. Saturday marked the second instance within a six-game-old road trip they have fallen after taking a three-run lead. Four of the losses have occurred when leading or tied after seven innings.

Tony messed up yesterday by only having a bad lefty available at the end to face Lee and Rami, and the latter made him pay.

Funny. . . if Lou had done this BCB would be screaming for his head.

. . . just sayin’

relief pitching appears to be their achilles heal

for they can bang the ball around.

Hey, maybe they're the 2007 Brewers

My bud who’s a diehard for the BrewCrew was totally astonished as to how many times Milw lost that season after having the dreaded 3-run lead. While I never tabulated myself, I did witness it once or twice, right at the hands of the Cubs.

Hey, if LaRussa has a bad ‘pen, then it’s LOU’s job to exploit it. Whether or not he does it, if the CUBS WIN, it’s all I care about.

Sweet Lou for Mayor in '11.

no crocodile tears being shed here

they have already started using the AAA squad so they might have to go with 13 pitchers but figure Tony will find a way to stay competitive.
