Cubs By The Numbers review
I just reviewed yet another Al Yellon book: "Cubs By The Numbers" over at CubHub.net. This is a great read - especially when one wants to read for just a short time....say, 10-15 minutes for a chapter... Anyway, I liked this book a lot. Here's my full review:

I also reviewed Cubs Annual 2009 in a previous post (that link is in the Cubs By The Numbers post as well). Some very good Cubs reading is out there these days. Hey, has anyone read the new Fergie Jenkins book??
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Hey, thanks for the nice review.
The "Guy You Never Thought Of As A Cub" and "Most Obscure Cub" sections were among my favorite parts of the book to do. Had fun debating which players to choose, and you’re right, there are some there who many people would never remember as Cubs.
Shameless plug: you can order direct from Amazon using the link on the right sidebar.

re: Hey, thanks for the nice review.
Thanks to you and your co-authors for a great book. Using baseball cards as player photos was genius. Honestly, I get bored with most of the Cubs history and retrospective books, but this one was really well done. Interesting, engaging, concise.
Hey, the Sun-Times is running my review today: see it on the suntimes.com website

There are 12 Cylon models.
We are all but copies of copies of copies.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

re: Don't confuse ClarkAddison
Hello Clark Addison – not intending to confuse, as my blog is the Clark-Addison Cubs Fan Blog, so I go by the moniker Clark Addison or ClarkAddison. Consider the coincidence a compliment. I do!
Besides, we are all brothers-in-Cubs, aren’t we?

No worries
I’ve been using that pseudonym nearly 20 years. I write for scuba diving magazines. One month I had four articles in the same magazine and the editor asked me to come up with a pseudonym for a couple of them. I’ve used it occasionally ever since, and it seemed natural for this discussion board.
Apparently there aren’t many Cubs fans among divers because nobody ever called me on it.

re: No worries
That’s funny on no Cub fan divers!
I know a writer who does something similar with the pen name “Ned Kelly”.
-take care….

If I find out there's a "da cubfan daver" out there, I'm gonna be pissed.
