Bruce Levine says...

…that the Cubs are likely to call up Jeff Samardzija within the next few days and that Hendry is actively trying to move a bullpen arm. I will presume that means he is preparing to whack Luis Vizcaino given that he is the only alternative I can think of since Neal Cotts is the only lefty in the pen and the Cubs seem hellbent on wasting a roster spot on the not-ready-for-primetime David Patton.

by BLou on Apr 21, 2009 7:12 PM CDT reply actions

Hopefully we can move most of the bullpen and the bench, too, while we are at it.

I would like to see the Shark in the rotation, Marshall in the pen and Cotts gone

That is assuming of course that the Shark has worked on his pitching arsenal and has the requisite effective slider to work as a member of the rotation. To me, Marshall is too damned value in the pen. Cotts needs to go bye-bye. He’s awful.

4.2 innings pitched

5 SO, 3 BB, 3 ER. That’s better than most of the pen.
