We have been lucky so far at dodging Aces. No Webb or Haren vs Diamonbacks. No Santana vs Mets. That has been huge so far for us this year. On the other hand we have had to play a lot of lefties, which we play poorly against.

Duncan

steps up to the plate. He grounds to Fonty, to tosses to Lee. Three outs, still 0-0.

It's weird having Al in the game thread.

Kind of like going out to a strip club with your dad.

Fonty comes up to the plate.

just a really bad at bat

he’s not seeing the ball. He’s guessing at pitches and hoping to make contact. That won’t get anyone out of a slump.

Soto

knocks one back up the middle! Gibbon, I bet that feels good for Soto.

it has to.

compare Soto’s approach to getting things going with what Fontenot is doing. Soto was patient, was willing to hit to all fields, got a pitch he can handle and drove it up the middle. What would you expect from Reed here drew?

knocks it through the left side. Two on, one out, and Dempster comes to the plate. Bunt here, Gibbon?

Soriano isn’t at the top of the lineup tonite. I believe that we’re gonna get some interference there.

Molina makes a bad throw to third, SAFE!

Dempster is called out, tagged by Molina before the throw. Wow.

tremendous, heads up play by Molina.

He made the tag and it was so bang-bang that Greene couldn’t get to cover third.

It’s up to Theriot here to get a clutch hit in a game that very well may be decided by a run or two based on how the SP are throwing.
