thank god theriot stays in
Just wait until Soriano plays second base – this defense might actually get worse

Any chance we could talk the Cards into spotting us a few runs tomorrow
…just to make it interesting?
We keep it close and then bam
"How's your mother?"
"She's on her way out."
"We all are. Act accordingly."
wouldn't it be cool if the Cardinals
had a batter named Rommel?
Patton vs Rommel…get it?
Drive, Monkey Drive!
is it wrong that we can find talking about Patton (the movie)
more interesting than this Cubs game?

I'd love to see Lou slap somebody with some batting gloves...

SAC BUNT coming
from the most fundamental baseball team in baseball

Fundamentals must not include good defense....
….a well executed Sac though..
New sig currently under construction

you can say it loud
there had been no “mentals” in our fundamentals so far this season..this is inexcusable..
This slump is saying a lot about our pitching.
by honeymunchkin666 on Apr 25, 2009 5:23 PM CDT reply actions
Huh ?
Pitching has been pretty decent especially the starting pitching. Hitting died a few games ago. This is not the worst thing.
Hitters wake up, bad pitching is forever.

Not awful, not great. But a lot of people wanted him shipped out, too.
by Not Bruce Froemming on Apr 25, 2009 5:34 PM CDT up reply actions
Nope
Both are doing very well this season Wuertz was so so but so so looks good now, Eyre was excellent then he slumped and ended up in the dog house while Howry continued to give up gopher balls. Lou is dreadful at managing pitchers, some times he lucks out
and it sort of takes care of itself but this year it is blowing up. We released a guy who was given no chance and still never gave up a run and got to eat 4 million. The only lefty we have can’t throw a strike over the plate.

Putting Soriano in the #3 spot was a mistake..
He was hitting well and was reasonably patient for his standards and then Lou messes with the lead off spot.
Moving Lee down was the right move. Hell, give Lee some rest and put Hoff at 1B. Lee is clueless right now.

I am not ledge jumping I am simply asking a question. (OK NBF?)
If the Cubs are .500 or less at the break, would the Cubs take the ax to Lou? Would it matter where we were in the pennant race, or with 140 million spent, would it matter?

Guy at bar: "Do you just like that hat or do you like Chicago?"

As seeing as the Cubs are going to lose today.
So far this year 8-8. Last year 11-5. After 16 games of course.
So this means ...
What? Granted, I’d rather be 11-5, but …
How many of those games were against the Pirates?

Actually, they were 10-6
with four games against the Pirates.
