Rubbing my eyes...

6am here in Australia… was it worth getting up for??

Or am I dreaming, because it sounds like the cubs are playing a different sport!

G'mornin', mate.

Welcome to the fun.

I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

I'd rather have Harden go out

for another inning than see Cotts. The only saving grace is that Lou isn’t likely to give him enough leash to do more than walk the first two batters.

EVERYBODY SING!

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack,
I don’t care if I never get back,
Cause it’s root, root, root for the CUBBIES
If they don’t win it’s a shame.
Cause it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out,
At the old ball game.

LET’S HOLD THEM, CUBS!!!!

OK!

So apparently no one cared enough to notice or post, but the Cubs won 10-3. Cotts looked poor, as usual, and Heilman looked strong, also as usual. Some unusual things: Gregg pitched the 9th without giving up a run. Something not necessarily usual but also not unusual: Fukudome went 3 for 4 on his 32nd birthday, with 5 RBI including a 3-run bomb in the 8th to put it completely away (and this was off a sidearming lefty!).

Soto went 0 for 4, but Miles went 3 for 4.

Harden looked spectacular.

Fly it, Cubs win!
