just imagine if we signed Nomar as some suggested
the posts would be off the chain about it
sad for him, hope he can recover and get back on the field

Gee, what a surprise.
Nomar should have retired. He’s just embarrassing himself.

The hypothesis can be reasonably made that Nomar prematurely fell to the ravages of steroids
I like Nomar. And his wife Mia Hamm is a hero and a role model for my daughter. But the nature of Nomar’s injuries the past 7 years is suspicious.
The window for winning a World Series may have waned.

He's supposedly predisposed to muscle injuries

It's really too bad.
Until 2003 he was on a Hall of Fame trajectory.

Well, I don't know what Mia Hamm has to do with anything
baseball or steroid related.
I don’t think Kris Benson is a publicity slut just because his wife is (was).
No matter, Nomar looks to be a guy who turned in a good portion of his talent for a few ’roid happy years.

My point is this...
Nomar, in my opinion, is paying the heavy price of steroid abuse earlier in his career. The repeated nature and severity of his injuries and the rapid decline of his physical health are big red flags. Nomar is allegedly a workout warrior and very health conscious otherwise. So draw your own conclusions. My conclusion unfortunately is that Nomar was on roids. And it is also my opinion that is the driver for why Theo Epstein was extra anxious to move the face of the Red Sox in 2004. And right smack dab in the middle of a World Series run no less.
The window for winning a World Series may have waned.

I guess the perfect solution to the Cubs' bench problem...
…wasn’t so perfect, after all. Certainly not surprising.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.
