Honestly, I distrust any publication that picks the Royals this year.
Kansas City isn’t terrible, mind you, but I just don’t see a winning season there, let alone the playoffs. How exactly is it that they became such a trendy pick lately?

I really don't see why everyone thinks that
A lot of people knew that the Rays were going to be a good team last year, because of their defense and their starting rotation.
The Royals on the other hand, have a few good young players, Gil Meche and a couple of replacement level players at first and in right.

Maybe people knew the Rays were going to be good...
… but did anyone see them as a 97-win World Series team, a year ago? Doubt it.

I love how people think that can predict the WS
Who makes the playoffs, sure, but as to winning it all, there is way to much randomness in those short series.
