BCB Prediction Contest!

We did this last year and since we're only one day into the season, let's do it again.

It's simple: pick the number of wins that the Cubs will have this year. Obviously, many of you will pick the same number, so we'll have to have a tiebreaker. Let's make the tiebreaker something we're all worried about: how many games will Milton Bradley play this year?

Leave your picks in the comments; at the end of the year I'll send this prize to the winner: "The Cubs" by Glenn Stout and Richard Johnson, a comprehensive history of the club.

Go for it! And if someone can tally up the points from the BCB Free Agent Frenzy contest from last fall -- we're going to disregard all the picks for Ben Sheets since it appears he's out for most if not all of the year -- I'll send one of these books to the winner of that one, too.

I'll start with my pick (though, if I win, the prize would go to the 2nd-place finisher). 93 wins for the Cubs, 135 games for Gameboard.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Thanks!

Here’s what znohitter sent me:

45 valid entries were posted. Several individuals failed to use each number once and so were excluded from competition.

billybuck and Seamer tied with 80 points out of a possible 120; both got 8 picks right.

Thus, billybuck and Seamer are named co-winners. You’ll both get prizes. Email me and I’ll send them out to you. Other notes sent by znohitter on the Free Agent Frenzy contest:

Everyone got hosed by the Wood signing. Only MDBNIU (BLou) had Wood moving to another team (the Mets). He also had Wood as his least certain pick, and so lost the least points on Wood as a result.

Dan said hi to his future self. He was so foolish back then, he only got 16 points and tied for 44th. Hopefully he has grown wiser in the off season.

Shanghai Badger called Sheets being injured, as did leothelip (who I included on the list even though he gave no numbers because of his comments; he got 4 picks right).

You (Al) got 43 points and wound up tied for 27th.
