Babe Ruth, Little Babe Ruth, is about ready to hit a homerun right now.

Ron Santo when Mike Fontenot came up in the 10th. I've never heard that nickname anywhere else than here. Has Ronny been reading BCB?

I thought Ron coined the term

and we followed his lead on this one

If the world didn't suck we would all fall off.

I didn't know that

Anyone have any clarification on that?

That's right.

Ron called Fontenot

Little Babe Ruth in his pregame interview with Lou last year. And someone who was listening liked it so they started it on here. (I don’t remember who it was… Madison, maybe?)

But it started with Ronnie.

The shortest distance between two points is under construction.

Thanks

I never knew that. I kinda jumped out of my seat when I heard that.

I dont know if I started it but I do remember hearing the interview Cubbiegirl is referring to

It was started b/c Ronnie was shocked at how much power Fonty had so such a lil guy. He referred to him as a little Babe Ruth.

"That's what you live for. You live for the opportunity and when that day comes, you better be ready," Soto said. "I tried to make sure that whenever they gave me a chance, I was ready and I knew I had to take advantage of the opportunity."

I agree.

And — trust me on this one — Fontenot is NOT 5-8. He’s shorter than that.

Exactamundo.

No. 10 gets full credit for this one.

i believe the exact quote was

“he’s like a little babe ruth!”

and i thought it was during a game. but i hardly ever actually get to listen to the radio broadcasts so i don’t know.
