well with a team like they have in Washington

I can see why they have to do this. Its a shame though that they just moved into this very nice stadium and cant even sell out opening day. Its gonna be a long year in Washington

In the past, the Brewers have done the same in Chicago

or am I dreaming?

One day I hope to come up with something worthy of this space.

I went to their Fan Fest or whatever they call it before the last exhibition game

There were maybe a couple hundred people there total. They really need to get some players besides Dunn if they want to get fans to come out.

There's a lot of problems with the Nats

Beginning with the fact that they don’t do enough in the DC area. They need to be proactive in this community – the area went so long without baseball that there was some initial curiousity, but now, if you don’t have a good team, you gotta find a way to get people there.

Also....

D.C. is also a city that lost the old Washington Senators not once, but twice, due to lack of attendance. It’s a football town to begin with, and has never been mistaken as a city that would stick with a losing baseball team. They need to emulate the Rays, who in my opinion, have been the model expansion franchise, at least since their new ownership took over. They did anything they could to get people there (free parking, cheap tickets, concessions, community involvement, and now are building a new stadium) and then focused on building a winner. The acquisition of Adam Dunn was a good start, but one star player is not going to bring an otherwise indifferent audience in to watch a losing team.
