sorry em - gotta disagree with you here

I realize he doesn’t make a habit of it but that’s no excuse. Go back up and look at the post. Then go ahead and type it out yourself. Probably takes at least 10-15 seconds. That’s no heat of the moment. That’s conscious effort.

I curse and swear with the best of them out loud. But there’s a big difference between yelling at the tv and sitting down and typing it out. The former is reaction – the latter is intentional effort. Somewhere between the two, a person should be able to stop the effort and not post it.

Go ahead and pound on the keyboard if that makes you feel better. But when you’re done, hit Cancel instead of Post.

I'm not gonna get into a syntax discussion...

…but as someone that’s licensed special education teacher and a 2nd year PhD student in special education, no one says “retarded” anymore. Even a well-recognized and widely read journal in the field of education changed its name after “retarded” was deemed politically incorrect.

“mentally retarded” is no longer the preferred term, replaced by “mentally disabled.”

by Emelie on May 10, 2009 4:31 PM CDT up reply actions

That's old, too.

Current publications use “intellectual disability”, and there’s been a change from third-person language of “disabled” to first-person terms like “has a disability”. So instead of saying “John Smith is disabled”, you would say “John Smith has a disability”. Gives the person a bit more empowerment, ya know.

Not worth it.

But I will say the W is even more satisfying, having ended with a strikeout of that Whiny Little Boy.

“it was ok”. However, I looked over during the movie and he seemed involved in it.

I loved it. There were some great moments, and nice homages.

Ok, I'm out of here.

Been a pleasure sharing this game with all of you. It was the first time this year I’ve been able to sit down and watch more than an inning or two (both working late and pleasure travel). Glad I got to see them win.

See you soon.
