Don't worry.
Ted will tell the tornadoes and storms to stop in their tracks and move northward to Canada.

I thought when Ted used a hoola hoop
that is how a tornado was started

Yes.
Tornado Watch until 11 pm CDT Wednesday. Conditions are favorable for tornadoes to form. Stay alert, and be prepared to seek shelter in the event that a warning is issued.

But which way
are the tornadoes rotating?

You can verify the Coriolis force by just looking at the water drain out of your tub
It should circulate the opposite way in Oz that it does up here.

incorrect.
the coriolis effect happens only in large systems (weather systems on the size of cyclones, hurricanes or typhoons which are all the same weather system but differ in location)

… when i graduated from Iowa a couple of years ago, i’d been too involved, too social, worked too hard…
I traveled Italy alone for a month, then moved to Chicago (where i knew next to nobody), got an apartment alone (after living with 12 people for three years straight), and did freelance web design from my living room while discovering Chicago. It was wonderful to have a little time away from the craziness.

Copy/paste from the previous thread, regarding radar trends
Radar shows an area of moderate rain over Chicago, but upstream there is nothing. Rain should end around 7:30pm or so, but it looks good after that. Some widely scattered showers west of De Kalb, but they are moving east-northeast.
Assuming the field is currently playable, I don’t really see a weather reason right now why the game shouldn’t be able to be played.
Fairly significant squall line developing out in southeast Iowa, but that’s about 200-250 miles away, and a very rough guess would have an arrival time after 11pm. There may be some widely scattered severe storms ahead of this line, but right now there isn’t much after the current rain clears out by 7:30-7:45. Whether that is a big enough window to get the game in, I don’t know.
I've said it before
and I’ll say it again.
I LOVE this new field. Maybe nothing else good has come from the south side, but Roger Bossard did a great job.
