MKE-STL series (It's raining and people are bored)

The Brewers play 3 against the Cardinals this weekend.  They are tied for first; the Cards are the traditional rival and have arguably the best manager in the game, while the Brewers have finished second to the Cubs two years in a row and whine about inside pitches.

So, who ya got for these three games?  The Cubs play the Cards next week, so I prefer the team that they don't see for a while to lose and then the Cubs take care of business themselves.  I'm pretty sure I don't want the Cards to sweep, though.

What do you think the best outcome for the Cubs would be in the Brewer-Cardinal series?

The fact that I'm reading this fanpost shows how little I was planning on working this afternoon, and now am desperate to fill it with something mindless since the Cubs were rained out.

You hit it on the head with #5

I’m still not worried about the division. MKE has been hitting on all cylinders the past few weeks. I still think their pitching will come back to earth.

#5 is pretty much why I posted this in the first place . . .

Although, I did vote for Cards win 2

Look at it this way

Which team do you think is the better team than root for the worse team to win.

I want

the Suds to beat the Cardinals down, but not get too far out in front.

Brew Crew should win 2

preferably the last 2 so that the cards are on a losing streak when they come to Wrigley.

Obviously I also agree with number 5.

Well, except the series vs. St. Louis next week is at St. Louis.

Well, as the Great Mambochicken established in the other thread...

…we should be rooting for:

  • Short, disastrous outings for both teams’ starters,
  • The use of multiple relief pitchers – on both sides – in every game,
  • High pitch counts for both starters and relievers,
  • At least one extra-inning game, and
  • Behavior unbecoming of major league ballplayers (and coaching staff) that results in lengthy, embarassing suspensions.

PLAY BALL!

I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

no

Selig might get the brilliant idea to move them to Milwaukee due to having a dome, and make the Cardinals the home team in Milwaukee.

Shouldnt Milwaukee be MIL not MKE?

Airport Code

MKE is the airport code for Milwaukee.

I think the Cards should win 2 of 3. Its their house, and early on Gallardo did not look good and the Cards jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the rains came.

By years end, I think the main competitor for the Cubs in the Central could be the Reds, they are the most impressive so far of the teams bunched up at the top. Best pitching of the 4 thats for sure.
