Let's not go nuts here.

There’s no reason to make reference to Hoff after every good D. Lee AB.

Thank you

Some people are just getting a little too silly and carried away with this whole Lee vs. Hoffpauir thing. Just want to see ‘em both do well whenever whoever’s in there.

You must've missed the explanation on the first thread

because I think it fits him pretty well

by slcathena on May 17, 2009 2:20 PM CDT up reply actions

Well the easiest compasison is that

Scales is his last name, snakes have scales and a cobra is the most bad ass snake and Bobby is a bad ass, so hence the name Bobby “Cobra” Scales. Also he plays with intensity and after the Milwaukee game everyone was joking about how he was playing pissed, and Cobras are definitely the most pissed off snakes you can find. I think it fits him pretty good and I’m a fan

No, I've heard the name creation over the last few days.

He’s not a snake. The guy is nice, polite, and not venomous or silly at all. He doesn’t bite or snap at people, he’s sociable and friendly. I don’t see the connection at all, frankly.

Someone help me out – does his $12M option for 2012 vest with 75 games played this year?

Because if that’s accurate, well, that’s just a terrible job of negotiation by Hendry. Milton was begging to be a Cub, and we gave him a de-facto 3 year deal at that kind of money?

Probably that they've been a little lucky so far.

They’re 2-3 games over their Pythag projection. It’s not like they’re that D-Backs team that made the playoffs with a negative run diff., but there’s the fact that the win % has been somewhat better than you’d expect, given their mediocre-to-poor hitting and pitching.

That being said, banking 2 games over your Pythag is a good thing. Those wins could come in handy!

The 2005 White Sox's record in 1-run games was ridiculous.

In the first half of 2005, the ChiSox were something like .800 in 1-run games. That stopped in the second half, but the fact that they’d banked such a gigantic statistical fluke made the difference in the division.

Obviously, with Aramis out, some 1-run game luck would be much appreciated.

Theriot juicing?

BAH!

He’s had a strong string of hits. Good for Theriot. Anyone who looks at his string of HR’s and suggests or implies it’s PED is a goof, an antagonist (or both).

If at the end of the season Theriot has 40+ HR then I could perhaps understand the suspicion, but at this point it’s silly to be suspicious of him.

I'm more concerned with 5 spots in the lineup hitting .200 or so every day.

Except when Z pitches.

Despite the .255 team average, pretty much no one is hitting .255 – it’s either .300 or .198.

And I'm hoping for Kobe to give Lebron the ass kicking he deserves

Nah

Its gonna be a back and forth, I honestly think the bench will win it for one team.

If you would have placed a $10 bet on that matchup in Vegas -

You would have won about $1.50. For a futures bet, that matchup was viewed as closed to a lock as anything I can remember.

I'm rooting for the Rockets.

Probably the Denver team I root for the hardest is the Nuggets (except when they play the Bulls).

IF IT TAKES FOREVER!!

Scales smacks it to the warning track
