too funny
The Rays listed two third basemen on their lineup card on Sunday, causing them to lose their designated hitter.
The plan was for Evan Longoria to DH and bat third on Sunday, but he was listed at third, along with Ben Zobrist. Since he didn’t take a position in the top of the first, the Rays have now had to go to starting pitcher Andy Sonnanstine as their No. 3 hitter

It rarely happens to start a game....last time was 1999
An unusual instance of an American League team forfeiting its right to the DH happened on July 22, 1999 to the Cleveland Indians in a game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Manny Ramirez, the designated hitter, accidentally went into right field instead of Alex Ramirez causing some confusion. The Indians lost their DH, and Charles Nagy was forced to hit in Alex Ramirez’s place going 0 for 2. John McDonald later pinch-hit for Nagy in the 6th inning. 11

How hard is it to look at a lineup card and see two guys at the same position?

As much as Iike him.....
….I’d normally be hopeful that the 2012 $12M option doesn’t get triggered.
But under the circumstances, the Cubs are going to need him in more than 75 games. So, let’s just hope he somehow figures it out.
All that being said, how is it possible that the Cubs have 4 straight hitters who are at or near .200?

I’ll bet that he’s over .250 by the end of June, and winds up over .260.
He’s already passed Bradley and Lee in batting average among regulars – Fonty is next!

BOth Geo and Bradley have been injured. Give them time. Bradley has already shown some improvement and so has geo. Id agree with you about Geo

Lost their DH spot so the pitcher is forced to bat 3rd. Maybe if he does well Zambrano will start campaigning Lou to get in the heart of the order

by CubsFanInWisconsin on May 17, 2009 2:06 PM CDT up reply actions
Start with the easy comparison,
His last name is Scales, snakes have scales, and a cobra is the most bad ass snake and Boby is a bad ass so he’s now Bobby “Cobra” Scales
