Photos Of Carlos Zambrano From His Daytona Start On Sunday 5/17
Thanks to BCB reader David K'Miller, who took these photos and emailed them to me:
I live in the Tampa area and we went up to Dunedin to catch [Carlos] Zambrano's rehab game today. I'd say at least ¾ of the fans had on Cubs gear and it seemed like the Cubs were the home team. Zambrano got a big hand when he went out to warm up and when he took the mound in the 1st inning. He graciously signed autographs out near the bullpen about an inning after getting pulled from the game.
Check out the uniform number! Click on the photos to open larger versions in new browser windows.

Great pics
Looks weird though

because it's a rehab start
who cares?
It's not about money. It's about winning and getting over the hump. We've had the appetizer now, but we left the main course on the table.

lucky number 13
Guy at bar: "Do you just like that hat or do you like Chicago?"
Me: "I'm in Love, Obsessed and Addicted to the Chicago Cubs!"
This kid has some potential
Good fast ball, ok slider… has some mental control problems, but I think if he keeps his nose to the grindstone he might be a serviceable pitcher in the bigs someday! I hear he’s a decent hitter too.
but he knows how to bunt well
and is a switch hitter. Lou will love that lefty bat
baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out
Sometimes he gets his nose too close to the grindstone
he needs to learn to pace himself, or else he risks wearing himself down and the inevitable injury.
I love to play baseball. I'm a baseball player. I've always been a baseball player. I'm still a baseball player. That's who I am. - Ryne Sandberg

I wonder what he does
with his uniform. Does he give it back? Is his name permanently attached? I wouldn’t mind having a Z $13 minor league shirt. :D

I think they'd charge more than that . . .

Pictures from the seats...
Sorry for the crap pix. A mobile phone was the only camera I had on me.

Not exactly packed…But when will I ever pay 6 bucks for a front row seat to watch Big Z again?

Warming up…

Taking the mound for the first time. 2 innings later (3 walks, and 2 runs later Reed goes out to talk to Z. After that the wheels feel off…
