If the pitcher batted 8th and Miles 9th I think they’d intentionally walk the pitcher.

Lilly should play 1st when Lee sits and Z should play right field when Bradley is out.

If Lilly throws a perfect game outside of that bad call at 1st they should beat the umpre with a stick.

True story:

Back in high school, my buddy’s dad was an ER doctor in Gary because he could make way more there than he could at one of the hospitals here. So he’d make the commute to Gary and back each day. One night, on his way to his car in the parking lot, he was attacked in the hospital parking lot, and my buddy’s dad fended the mugger off by shooting him in the leg.

MLB is going to wait until a broken maple bat stabs someone.

One of these days it is going to happen that the sharp end is going to hurt someone.

It's already happened

Don Long, the Pirates bench coach, took the sharp end to his cheek last year. And a few years ago, Rick Helling was impaled in the leg by the sharp end.

They studied the issue last year, but it doesn’t seem to have changed anything.

Well...

I guess they will wait until a high priced star has his career ended by a maple bat incident. And at that point, insurance companies will exclude “maple shrapnel” from an insured event, and at that point, MLB will finally have to do something about it.

It is all about the money.
