Yep

Earlier, he threw to first as Lee was breaking to cover a bunt attempt, so with first base unoccupied, it was a balk. And then there was the second one, where he stopped his stride and throw and then resumed it.

It's in the spirit of our old friend Northsider

Who used to post a wavy flag which, when clicked, played “Go Cubs Go.” I tried looking for the flag recently, and couldn’t find it. I did find the playlist link, completely by chance.

Thanks.

I’d like it more if I could find a wavy “W” flag, but this is fine.

Nice victory today

Got an early lead, tacked on a couple of runs and Lilly and Heilman were masterful.

With Z going tomorrow, I’m feeling good about taking 3 of 4.

Wow! Cubs win!! Cubs win!! Cubs win!! Cubs win!!

Missed the entire game b/c I worked overnight, and my body just woke me up… I’ll take it though! Another Riot HR?! Excelllent… Looks it was a fairly “Chicken Little” less thread. I missed you guys though. Nice fitting tribute to Northsider with the wavy W flag.

I always go with what works....

But of course, it never lasts very long or the Cubs would have some really long winning streaks…

A few days ago,

I was flying from Vermont to Philadelphia, and there was a guy on the plane with a Cubs cap. He had tickets to Wrigley Field today. He saw a great game.

That is the best win of the year.

Hitting in bunches, especially with runners on. Lilly was the best I have seen him all season, even with the 1 hit display earlier in April. Lee showed some power. Theriot with the hot stick. Z going tomorrow gives me hope that we can take 3 out of 4, something I cannot remember doing to the Fish in quite some time, if at all.

"How's your mother?"
"She's on her way out."
"We all are. Act accordingly."

by louslovechild on May 2, 2009 2:54 PM CDT reply actions

I'd concur

This might be their best overall victory of the season.

by Not Bruce Froemming on May 2, 2009 2:59 PM CDT up reply actions

Two observations.........................

Lee’s back with a huge HR and oops 3 K’s…not so impressive. Does the decline continue?

Hoffpauir goes 2 for 3 with a nice catch in RF. It’s too bad he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. He’s worked hard to become a decent RF’er, good 1st baseman, and a .300+ hitter.

If you had to choose just one characteristic that would get you through life, choose a sense of humor.
