that's a bit wordy
It's not about money. It's about winning and getting over the hump. We've had the appetizer now, but we left the main course on the table.

Why do I have it on WGN HD?

Sick & Tired

It's the military motif....for memorial day weekend.

that was a lineup with NOBODY over .300 in it
I’m sure Chris Young is petrified by the power
Drive, Monkey Drive!
The only Padres hitters
w/ BA’s over .300 are Scott Hairston and Drew Macias… I don’t think Theodore is going to be pitching in fear either.
BTW: Padres’ BA on this 8 – 0 homestand? .180.

I know about the Padres...
Amazing how they have won. It’a all about Clutch (not clutche) hitting.
Cubs have no clutch hitting.
Drive, Monkey Drive!
I loathe
the truth you type.

Quiet in here...
I guess everyone is watching the Hawks game.

I was convinced Gonzalez was gonna go deep again.
A DP is much better.

You know...
You could give the service members better seats than the upper deck, Padres.

This is the 3rd year in a row...
The cubs have gone to SD and looked absolutely terrible.
I was there the last 2 years, decided not to drive down this weekend
Drive, Monkey Drive!
Yeah, I was there 2 years ago
It was right before the Cubs started playing a lot better. Hopefully the same is about to happen.

Anybody know..
I’d swear I read on the Cubs website one can obtain promotional items for homegames somehow without actually going to the game. Every hear of this?

He's not batting third
moved him to 5th when Lee got sick and Hoff replaced him.

I bet Chris Young
talks like Gomer Pyle.

Lets break up the perfect game right here
Just need to get a runner on. Its so easy to steal off these guys.
Oh Mark DeRosa how we need you at third base.
So is the Jump thread
gonna be necessary today?

Al set it up so they post automatically...
But we may not need to go.

Did I hear that right?
Perry locked up the batting cage today, and refused to let guys get extra work? Hmm.

How diplomatic
and boring… (I kid.)

On the bright side...
this HAS to be the worst offensive spell of the year. Right?
"This is an environment of welcoming, and you should just get the hell outta here." --Michael Scott
You have to think so
The Pirates are next, so that should jump start our offense.
Oh Mark DeRosa how we need you at third base.
I really hope some home cooking does the trick.
That being said. Why are we playing a night game on a holiday?!

Having a perfect game thrown against us
is the perfect way to end this awesome road trip.
Oh Mark DeRosa how we need you at third base.
i so would've
interfered with kouz on that play.
Someday we'll go all the way.

I think the winning streaks of
STL (obviously) and MIL have made this look even worse. Cardinals lost today, so maybe they can go into another tailspin.
Oh Mark DeRosa how we need you at third base.
Our offense is not that good to start with but it is true
We ran into a buzzsaw of quality pitching
Drive, Monkey Drive!
But how much of that comes from us?
Pinero sucks, Carpenter was right off the DL, and the guy from last night wasn’t good. Young is good in PetCo, but still he can be beaten.
Oh Mark DeRosa how we need you at third base.
I'm not giving the other team all the credit,
but their pitchers stepped up and our offense did not.
Drive, Monkey Drive!
I don't know...
we have some offensive talent. Even not counting the injured. This doldrum defies logic.
And I have to wonder if this isn’t the chicken-or-the-egg kind of thing. Is Joel Piniero really channeling his inner-Maddux or do we make mediocre pitchers look like aces, and aces look like Superman?
Dammit… nji232 said it first.

somebody needs to talk to Chris young
you know, the old curse of speaking to the pitcher ?
Drive, Monkey Drive!
Oh goody...
it’s Chris Young’s birthday tomorrow.

He's so slow that he takes an hour and a half to watch 60 Minutes.
