Does anybody know where I can find a video of Dempster punching the Gatorade dispenser?
I wanna show it to my dad, and I can’t find it, thanks to MLB’s 1970-ish media policies.

Lewis gives the magic the lead with 4.1 left
100-98. I’ll bet LeBron hits a game winner here
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
Did you feel stupider reading the ESPN.com/LeBron/NFL article today?
I sure as shit did.

Barely makes the second
.5 left, could have a derek fisher moment here
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
Now I have to be pissed at the refs
they just cost howard two FTs. Damn shame players can’t win games in the NBA.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
I can't imagine they would...
make a call in that spot though. Probably just swallow their whistles.
by CubsWin!Oregon on May 26, 2009 10:23 PM CDT up reply actions
100% promise if that is Wade, Kobe, or LeBron
that is a foul. Its all about getting a LeBron-Kobe final.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
I have to admit, I haven't watched more than 50 NBA games since Jordan left...
…but I really feel as if the refereeing dictates the outcome of the game more than any player. It’s both very frustrating for players, and completely deflates the momentum of gameplay.
"The riches of the game are in the thrills, not the money." --Ernie Banks
Not to sound like a homer...
but I know it impacted the Blazers/Rockets. Both sides were unhappy with the schizo way the refs would call contact fouls between Yao and the Blazers centers. No one ever knew what was a foul and what wasn’t. Totally arbitrary.
by CubsWin!Oregon on May 26, 2009 10:25 PM CDT up reply actions
Which is part of the problem
A foul in the first isn’t a foul in the third. I understand letting more stuff go in the last minute, but the rules apply to everyone.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
Oh, I agree.
I think regardless of circumstance if it’s a foul, it should be called. My point about Howard was just that I don’t think any ref would ever decide a series by calling incidental contact with .5 sec left. Whether that’s right or wrong is another thing.

Dwight Howard is putting his name in the upper tier hat
I love playoff basketball, enough that I type about it alone on a Cubs blog.

Basketball...
is really hard to follow on the radio when you don’t know every guy on the court by name. :)

Yeah it isn't a radio sport

I'm only really able
to follow if it’s the Bulls in the playoffs. I used to watch Jordan when I was growing up, but since then, I have developed a really short attention span when it comes to more “fluid” sports like basketball, hockey, and soccer…
21 seconds left
Dwight howard on the line with a two point lead. Pressure time.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
Hits them both
Up 4 with 21 seconds left. Magic winning
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
Jump ball forced by Howard
16.4 left. James-Howard jump ball
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
I think college bball needs the jump ball rule like the NBA has
Possession arrow just has less drama.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
Yeah.
I’ve never liked the possession arrow thing.

6.4 left
113-111 Magic. Rashard Lewis (84% about) on the line
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
I really dislike the NBA rule...
with a timeout giving you the ball at half-court. It doesn’t make any sense to me at all, other than to encourage more exciting last second plays. But it’s kind of cheap marketing, not because it makes sense based on the rules of the game. It’d be like getting a timeout in baseball that automatically gives you a runner on third.
by CubsWin!Oregon on May 26, 2009 10:42 PM CDT reply actions
That is the idea IMO
just make more last second plays. Magic up 4 again.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
Damn
LeBron hits a three. 115-114 3.1 left. No timeouts left for Cleveland. I get a feeling that Cleveland would win.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
OMG he almost made it
3-1 series lead for Orlando. Shocking.I thought that was in
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
...whuh?
LeBron’s team is actually LOSING???
Someone alert the presses and file an appeal to David Stern! The refs are giving Orlando the series to spite LeBron!
Or, you know, they could just be the better team
by northernsails on May 26, 2009 10:47 PM CDT up reply actions
That would actually be a great series
But I understand why casual fans would hate that. Heck I wouldn’t be the biggest fan of that.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
As a Blazer fan I would hate that.
I hate the Lakers as much as I hate the Cardinals. But I can’t stand the thought of Chris Anderson coming anywhere near a championship…
Ideally, the Lakers lose in the Finals to twist the knife in all lakers fans guts as they choke yet again.

Pretty exciting...
I bet LeBron goes nuts next game to ensure a Game 6.
by CubsWin!Oregon on May 26, 2009 10:47 PM CDT reply actions
He may go nuts
but I hope there isn’t a game 6.
I’m just really sick to death of all the ESPN-condoned kissass that goes on about Lebron-Kobe. Like it was the second…no third coming of Ali-Frazier
by northernsails on May 26, 2009 10:54 PM CDT up reply actions
Yeah, it is annoying.
I basically ignore everything on ESPN these days save PTI…and then Around the Horn every once in a while. Otherwise, I think the’re coverage sucks.

It's not just ESPN though
They started the snowball because, well, Disney owns them and everyone has to bow down to them, but plenty of other mediums are joining the big lovefest.
