Mr. T sings @ Wrigley - What do you think?
Mr. T. sung the stretch @ Wrigley Monday night. I thought he was fantastic--he had Len & Bob cracking up the entire time, he put his own impassioned twist on the 'old classic, and he took pictures with just about every one that asked.
The questions - What did you think? Did you like Mr. T's performance? Do you like the tradition of having a celebrity or IL sports team sing the stretch every game? Would you rather have Santo sing it every time? Weigh in, BCBers.

Love
the tradition—I don’t care how many people suck at singing it. Even though Mr T wasn’t the best singer, he said “I pity the Pirates” and therefore it was spectacular.

I thought it was great.
Very, very funny and entertaining.
Overall, I don’t like the “tradition”. It seems that most of the time, it’s B list celebrities trying to push their movie, TV show, college football team awareness, etc. But once in awhile, we get someone who’s just there because it’s really cool to sing the 7th inning stretch at Wrigley Field. Those people make it fun.
Anytime you’re watching a Cubs game and you hear Mr. T grunting for half an inning like he’s constipated, well that’s just really funny!

Horrendous.
He sounded bad; he’s a Z-list celebrity who, 20 years after his fame for “The A-Team”, is mostly famous for being famous (and, for cutting down a huge stand of old trees on his property in Lake Forest).
Do away with the celebrity stuff. It’s ridiculous and embarrassing.

Agree.
If they want to continue the tradition, play a recording of Harry. But I think the whole thing should’ve died with Harry eleven years ago…

One year's worth of tribute...
… the 1998 season — would have been enough.

baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out

Eh, I didn't mind him all that much.
He is a native Chicagoan and, as far as I can tell, a genuine Cubs fan. (Feel free to correct me on that if I’m mistaken.) My main beef is with celebs (or pseudocelebs) who are either avowed fans of other teams or, worst of all, don’t know anything or care about the game of baseball.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.
