Keep it up, Cubs

"I knew we were in for a long season when we lined up for the national anthem on opening day and one of my players said, 'Every time I hear that song I have a bad game.'" - Jim Leyland

You know what makes me frustrated?

That Lou plays match-ups like they are the end-all to baseball. Dome has been the best hitter on this team this year, and he simply NEVER plays with a LHP in the lineup. I know we have guys with decent splits against lefties, but com’on Lou, use common sense. The guy can hit.

He plays players with a continued chance for them to be successful...

Plus, how nice is it to have Dome in the bag to pull out when the opposing team switches pitchers?

for those at work

sori turns a morgan single into a two base error by bobbling the ball in LF

then a WP by Z and morgan comes home and Z blocks the plate (looked like morgan got his hand in) but called safe and Z explodes, and bumps the ump w/ bill of hat and shoulder

The Ump CLEARLY was the one who bumped Z . . . bullshit

by TheRiot02 on May 27, 2009 3:17 PM CDT reply actions

I don't quite agree with that

The ump brushed Z but then Z clearly extended his arm to further the contact

by BeltwayCubsFan on May 27, 2009 3:18 PM CDT up reply actions

Take another look . . . the Ump initiated the contact

and if the roles were reversed (i.e., Z did what the ump did) he would clearly be suspended. It should work both ways. The fact that Z “furthered” the contact initiated by the ump should be irrelevant . . . IMHO
