First Bradley, Now Lilly
This is nuts. I didn't see the incident, and can't find any video (anybody have it...?), but this "he said, she said" crap between players and umps needs to stop. Why can't they just handle this stuff behind closed doors where it belongs? If I went around my place of business talking all sorts of crap about my fellow employees I'd probably just get terminated... but these umps and players just seem to run their mouths for fun. I don't know who's in the right here, but either way it's kind of sad and it's just going to end up getting Lilly suspended...

the umps shouldn’t be allowed to talk to the media at all.

The Umps need to be above this.
Their job is to remain impartial. Players can run their mouths off to the media if they want to, but in the end these matters are decided by the commissioner’s office, not in the court of public opinion.
The best umpires are the ones you never even notice, because that means they haven’t drawn undue attention to themselves by blowing calls or showing up players.

The last 3 or so years
Umpires have been getting way too involved in this game instead of just calling balls and strikes. Plus they don’t seem to be doing a good job at it anymore either.

Let's add Z to this list
"That's what you live for. You live for the opportunity and when that day comes, you better be ready," Soto said. "I tried to make sure that whenever they gave me a chance, I was ready and I knew I had to take advantage of the opportunity."

umpires are never wrong
Can’t remember the game last week, but the ump had to apologize for touching the player. Any suspension? No. MLB thinks just covering up all umpire gaffs makes them go away. Any criticism or punishment is done in private. Clear the air Mr. Watson, let a little sunlight in. If an umpire draws a suspension, make it public knowledge. No harm can come from that.
