Cotts vs. Waddell - Lesser of Two Evils?
Waddell's MLEs don't paint the prettiest picture, but neither does anything we've seen of Cotts lately.

Waddell will be an interesting experience..
He sounds like he has a chip on his shoulder, after never getting a chance to prove himself before this spring. This could work for him, or against him. He is late enough in his career that it’s “now or never” time. Worked well for Guzman, so maybe we’ll catch some luck. I hope so.

Thanks for doing this.
It confirms for me at least that the Cotts for Waddell move ranks as a “meh” at best until Waddell really shows something. It seems like Cotts really is a “all or nothing”-type pitcher – either K, BB, or HR. I’m oversimplifying, of course, but his high K numbers are why I’ve stuck up for him on a number of occasions, the BB were what put him on Lou’s sh*tlist to begin with and the HRs are what sent him back to Iowa.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.
For good or evil...
Cotts seems like he can either nibble the corners and give up walks, or go after hitters and give up homeruns. – not sure what he’ll be able to practice in Iowa against lesser hitters, unless it’s to get a lot of practice of pinpointing pitches a lot better. MLB hitters are beasts.

Waddell isn't Cotts
I am convinced that is all that matters to Lou right now.
