Lou talks about the Cubs' call-ups. It'll be interesting to see how he uses Fox. Sad to see Scales go down--hope he finds his way back up.

that is really cool

i was playing with it and it seems like the slower the speed you set there is more of an “illusion.” I wonder if that effect is true with throwing a real curveball.

see how important it is to keep you eye on the ball!

Thread fail.

I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

Locker Room Mood?

Amy,

I’m curious as to the mood in the locker room today after the game. Happy about the big win? Or sorta stunned by the Zambrano tantrum?

by Amy...

…do you mean me? (it’s Sarah, but I think you mean me…)

The guys were in a GREAT mood today before the game and definitely still cheery afterwards. Everyone had water cooler jokes and while they understood the seriousness of the issue, they are clearly used to Z’s passion and were definitely happy about two straight wins.

Oops...sorry...

Yes, I meant Sarah.

I once knew an Amy Spain so I guess I pulled that out of my subconscious from a long time ago! Duh.

Thanks for answering my question anyway! If they continue to relax, I think they’re about to bust loose with the bats.

Interesting that Lou...

…seems to imply that Aaron Miles is Theriot’s backup at SS when he’s played only 17.1 innings there all season so far. Blanco is a much better choice defensively.

Lou doesn’t exactly sound thrilled about Waddell. My heart goes out to any lefty brought in to do time in this bullpen.

Nice to hear The Substitute is coming back, though he appeared to be really cooling off.
