Chick-Fil-A coming to town
Completely off topic from the Cubs, but I'm sure I'm not the only lover of the great chain that is Chick-Fil-A. Soon, Chicagoland residents will no longer have to go down south for it! From Facebook: Chick-fil-A It's true - Chick-fil-A is coming to Chicago. Many thanks to our CHICAGO FANS. We loved the video!! We're doing our best to open as soon as we can, but it's a long, long process. Hang in there with us - we're doing our best to make it happen in 2010. AND TO ALL OUR FANS - Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are the best and the envy of brands around the world. Eat More Chicken!!

South?
This has been a chain in Iowa for as long as I can remember.

not a chick fil a to be seen here in the great CU area.
It's not about money. It's about winning and getting over the hump. We've had the appetizer now, but we left the main course on the table.

I consider Downer's Grove southern Illinois.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

it's

If you're from Chicago...
downstate is south of I-80, period.
Just like we sit in the front room, not the living room; and…
all driving directions are, “from the city” and…
you have or know someone who has used furniture to save a parking space and…
we drink pop, not soda. Soda is something used to get stains out of carpets; and…
the list goes on and on.

Try the Illini Student Union
In the basement food court. It’s been here a couple years now.
I haven’t seen Chik-fil-A north of here in Illinois, though.

Chick-fil-a
is the best fast food chain in America. I love it.

What makes them good?
Serious Q – I’ve never even seen one, I don’t think, except maybe while driving in a distant city.

Well,
their food is really good to be fast food. If you like chicken sandwiches, nuggets, salads, buscuits, etc. then it’s your type of place. Really good, really clean place and usally good mannered people.

Those little nuggets are great.
Waffle fries are pretty solid too.
I rarely eat fast food, but Chick-Fil-A is a good call when doing so.

The chicken breast sandwich makes them good.
The waffle-cut fries make them great.

Hmm
Thanks – I, too, have pretty well removed fast food from the gastric rotation, but this may deserve a look!

We have one here in Long Beach
My wife loves them. They are always closed on Sundays.

According to the founder, S. Truett Cathy
Our decision to close on Sunday was our way of honoring God and directing our attention to things more important than our business. If it took seven days to make a living with a restaurant, then we needed to be in some other line of work. Through the years, I have never wavered from that position.
No matter your position on religion (Cathy is a devout Baptist), that attitude is worthy of respect. Hard work, dedication to customer service, and the prioritization of principle over money have made Chik-Fil-A a success. That, and their tasty chicken.

Don't forget the milk shakes!
I really don’t much care for fast food, but this place is very good compared to the other big chains. I’m in the restaurant business as well, and these folks really have their act together. (I’m guessing Cubbie-Tim probably has eaten at some of our locations in Austin).
They are very consistent with the product, have well-trained and polite staff, and very clever marketing.

Chick-fil-a is REAL good...
Everytime I’m down in Georgia on business I make sure to stop for lunch. Very, very good.
Awww, come on guys, it's so simple maybe you need a refresher course. It's all ball bearings ...

disagree.
we get both in SoCa and I prefer Chick-fil-a—though both are GREAT (for fast food). Of course the Chicken guy does not open on Sunday while the In & Out guy puts religious stuff on the bottom of his cups. Both guys seem a bit over the top to me, but the food is good.

+100
And in rebuttal to LAcarl519, Chick-fil-a’s waffle fries come delivered to them frozen. In-N-Out uses a fresh potato and a JIT system for orders. I agree that Chick-fil-a is good, but nothing beats In-N-Out, particularly in the fresh ingredients department.

Outstanding chain
at least for me. All my trips south must have a stop at a Chick-fil-A in Georgia.
And if you’re down there anyone, try a Krystal and let me know if you think they’re as good as slyders.

White Castle > Krystal
But not by much. Make sure y’all rush out to the new Chick-Fil-A when it opens, though. Atlanta likes the money.
And it is damned tasty. Used to work across the street from one, and had lunch there all the time – The Chicken Sandwich is terrific, they do decent wraps, and the biscuits are divine.

The Lord and I have our own understanding
It is nice to be closed on Sunday, but I work in an industry that expects 24/7/365. That, and my 20 year mortgage and kids that want to go to college.
I know this sounds rude, but it is about fat and salt. Americans love those things in food, and we love them served to us fast. She didn’t exactly break any new ground. And, yes, I’ve had Chick-Fil-A once or twice. There is one in the foodcourt of my local mall. I walk past it all the time.

Are we talking grilled?
Fried chicken? Both?
I have seen them recently when I was in S.C., but did not partake.
I cannot tolerate gluten (wheat) now unfortunately, but grilled stuff (sans bread), shakes and fries, I have no problem with.
