King of the Hill---Fergie Jenkins and the 72/73 Cubs Documentary
King of the Hill. Canadian documentary on Fergie Jenkins and the Chicago Cubs in 1972-73.
If you're a child of late 60's/early 70's Chicago Cubs, this is the best hour you'll spend today. In color, great shots of spring training and at Wrigley. Wow. This video is amazing.

Some highlights after watching it again:
—Spring Training workouts
—Fergie mic’d up in live action
—Carmen Fanzone playing the National Anthem
—Hot Pants! (nice view of a fan around the 11 minute mark on opening day)
—vs. the Astros in the Astrodome, vs. the Expos at Jerry Park
—the old Bullpen cart
—bleacher shots during games (RF about 1/3 empty)
—contract negotiation talk with Fergie’s agent
—Lots of baseball talk w/ Ron Santo, Billy Williams, and Randy Hundley in hotel room
—Dismissal of Leo Durocher
—seeing old uni’s of Astros, Padres, and Pirates
There is some language and there is some locker room shots of naked athletes, so I would call this one NSFW.

What a trip
This can be enjoyed on several levels:
Players mic’d during games
70’s hair and clothes
frank baseball talk
Seeing Santo, Jenkins, Hundley, Williams in their prime again

Just watched it...
…and I thought it was really cool, and I’m too young to have even known the players back then. Great to see Ronnie as a youngster, and see Jack in the broadcast booth.
My final comment: HOLY SIDEBURNS, BATMAN!!
Thanks for posting this link!
