Whenever I see "Let's do this"
the next thing that always comes to mind is “LEEEEEEEEEEEEROYYYYYYYYY JENNNNNNNKINNNNNSSSSSSS!” :)
That said, let’s put a hurtin’ on the Dodgers today.

I can't wait for more of Tim McCarver...
and his 10 minute stories about his slippers.
by CubsWin!Oregon on May 30, 2009 3:10 PM CDT up reply actions
Every time I hear McCarver
I think of the “Family Guy” bit, where Brian says “well, Stewie couldn’t be any worse at this than Tim McCarver is at broadcasting.” Then they cut to McCarver in the booth.
McCARVER: In my view, as good as the Yankees were in the first half of this game, that’s how as bad they’ve been now.
I LOL every time.

Well that too
but I can turn off the game thread if that happens. Turning off the game itself is a little less plausible. :-P
Stuck with the Braves gane

“Curse”
“Loveable Losers”
what, they haven't used them

It’s still Joe Buck.

Hey, way off topic, but...
can someone enlighten me on the deal Cubbie-Tim has going on? Is it just for long time BCB’ers, and are the jerseys authentic? I’d ask him, but he’s not on here right now, and it was on my mind.

It ends at 7 (if the weather holds) so I’ll miss just about everything…and no chance of recording because I live in Boston, which is inexplicably Rays v. Twins. (yeah yeah, I know why they did it, it’s still dumb)

Yeah
And for someone who is obviously talented, it’s strange he’d choose Bethel, unless that was the school offering a scholarship. I know they have an excellent girls softball team, but I didn’t think their baseball team was that good. To me, that would be like someone starting in the NBA after playing at IUSB.

I wouldn't mind seeing him get a chance to see what he can do
given his hot bat
I woudn't either
but when we’re struggling to score runs as it is GIVING up outs is going to kill the pitching.
Scales is so good there?
just saying…..
I get ur point but play him 2 steps in on the grass for Pierre and Furcal up until 2 strikes……he IS a big league player after all
while we can't get runs
you gotta have good D.

My fear
is that we’ll have a short bench or injury and need him against a lefty, and he’ll have no at bats this year :-(

Nice!
Glad that worked. Anyone remember his attempt to win the game with his bunt last year?
by Craig in South Bend on May 30, 2009 3:58 PM CDT reply actions
yep
last year he was not lucky.
This time he was. Had Stultz not slipped, he probably would have been out.

Sorry, I don’t remember.

Let's go Soto!
Cubs record since April 2004: 4-0
by Vermont Cubs Fan on May 30, 2009 3:59 PM CDT reply actions
C'mon Soto
A 3 run shot would be beyond nice here
I sit at home after the Cubs lose and wanna pound sand but I know I live in a state without that kinda land. I know in my heart Sori isn't a guess hitting hack and that Dero will never be back. Pitching is King, some do say and hopefully Aaron Miles doesn't play in a Cub uniform another day. By October this I know, to the playoffs we are for sure to go. Go Cubbies!!
Soto
bounces it to Furcal at short. Three outs. 2-0, 2 LOB.

Cold have been more
but yea…two is alright. I like the aggressiveness on the basepaths and at the plate so I cant complain if we make an unnecvcesary out. Rather go down that way then simply going station to station.
no chance
Bradley gets in trouble over the ump butt slap is there?

Umpire...
didn’t react at all from what I could tell…so I’d hope not.

I sure hope not
It was clearly just an atta boy
He's not the first to do it
so I doubt it

Judd yells about something. Furcal leading off, 0-2.

I like Miller...
Morgan is a jack-ass…
by CubsWin!Oregon on May 30, 2009 4:09 PM CDT up reply actions
Morgan had the weekend off last week
and it was actually really nice with Miller, Phillips and Herschiser.
Say what you want
but Joe Morgan has really taught me a thing or two with his “Idiot’s Guide to Baseball” book.

Loney
Fly ball to left. Soriano takes it on the line. Throw to second holds the runner. Pat and Ron say that Soriano is limping.

Limping and slumping. Not a good combination

Didnt notice a limp either
but his at bats suggest he is not 100%
Dempster pitching outstanding as well.
