When the Cubs face a right-handed starter, expect Andres Blanco at second base, not Scales. Blanco was a switch-hitter, but now bats only left-handed. The Cubs didn't know that until Blanco was called up Wednesday.

Is Blanco
going to platoon with Fontenot now?

looks like
we might lead the MLB in platoons
baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out
amen
and it looks like Blanco will platoon with Scales, since Lou says Fonty is the starting third baseman till Rami is back.

No.
Fontenot is going to get the vast majority of time at 3B, according to that same article (I’m assuming that’s the same one I read earlier).
I'm pretty sure it's the same article
I was just wondering how it was possible they were unaware that Blanco was no longer a switch hitter.
"Do you want a bunch of duds walking around with their shoulders slumped and having no emotions, no feelings?" Bradley said. "I don’t think the fans want that. I think they want a guy who’s going to get into the game and feel a little bit. I’ve always said, ‘I don’t really play baseball, I feel it.’ "
seems like
a miscommunication between the AAA manager and Lou.

Blanco had 57 spring training AB and appeared in 30 spring training games.
If Lou didn’t know this — because Blanco must have been doing this in spring training if he’s doing it now — the fault has to lie with Lou.

then why did Blanco bat right handed his first game (and first at bat) up?

That was the only time.
Apparently, he wanted to try it, had too much pain, and stopped.

I guess we could ask the minor league contributer to the blog...
…if he’s been doing that in Iowa all season, or this was a recent development.

Why do you say that? I was under the impression that he’d suffered some sort of injury after the season started.

I heard it was something that happened last year that was still bothering him.
