Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

After 25 innings, and seven hours, three minutes after the first pitch, the Texas Longhorns prevailed over the Boston College Eagles 3-2 in the longest NCAA game in history. even more amazing - Texas only used 3 pitchers! And Boston College gets to go back out to the park this afternoon to play an elimination game with Army.

I've been to Disch-Falk Field before, and there is a group of Horn fans that sit on top of their RV behind right field drinking beer all game. I have no idea how they have a liver left.

And if those two pitchers....

… who threw all those pitches were in the Cubs bullpen, Lou STILL wouldn’t use them for more than one inning at a time.

A relief pitcher going 13 innings

Has to be some sort of record.

he threw 12 1/3 innings of no hit bal!!!

I live in Austin and drove by the stadium heading out to dinner and drinks. I noticed the lights were still on the way home but figured it was just clean up crew getting the place ready for tomorrow.

Every player should be accorded the privilege of at least one season with the Chicago Cubs. That's baseball as it should be played - in God's own sunshine. And that's really living."

As a BC alum, it was entertaining (and exhausting) to watch.

Then I got this note from my cousin (a UT alum) this morning:

Now BC gets to play Army this morning for the chance to play the Horns this evening. College baseball is a pretty funny game. BC could get in 43 innings of baseball in just over 24 hours.
Hook ’em young cousin. Hook ’em.

43 innings in 24 hours. Awesome.

I love to play baseball. I'm a baseball player. I've always been a baseball player. I'm still a baseball player. That's who I am. - Ryne Sandberg

and its a pretty cool set up. you ahve to know someone to get up there, and they accept a donation only, which goes towards the food and drinks

baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out

Great article about Austin Wood

the Texas pitcher who threw the 12 1/3 no hit innings in this game.
