Prob My Fav Trivia Question
Kerry Wood (20) and Bob Feller (17) are the only pitchers to have struck out their age in a game.
I like it cause A) the odds of someone else doing it are so slim seeing as how no one plays in the majors before their 20 let alone starts a game and B) it involves a Cubbie

Here's one.
Name the only major league franchise that has never had a hitter with 40 HR in a season.
Do this WITHOUT looking it up.

Not lookg up
But I’ll guess Arizona? I’d say Tampa Bay but I feel like they’ve had someone the last couple years.

Both AZ and TB have had 40+ homer guys.
Carlos Pena hit 46 for Tampa a couple of years ago (and has 11 already this year).
You ought to remember Luis Gonzalez’ 57-homer season for Arizona in their WS winning year, 2001.

Montreal
baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out

I think

yes he did, heres another fun fact
Bond and Brady are the only 2 players to record a season with 50 home runs and another of 50 stolen bases, there will probably never be a 50/50 guy in baseball if only 2 guys ever recorded seasons toppin 50 in each category

Doubtful that ever happens again especially when guys
cant use the juice anymore. They just are not hitting them out like they used to and the guys who still mash really well just are not running anymore.

DINGDINGDING!!
We have a winner.
The Royals’ all time single season HR record is 36, set by Steve Balboni in their WS year, 1985.

Takeaway
The George Brett takeaway HR ruined his season or he would have done it. Dang Yankees screw everything up.
If the world didn't suck we would all fall off.

damn
i thought for sure it was gonna be the pirates, Ralph Kiner hit over 40 for them 3 times though, kinda hard to think the pirates did anything when they havent had a winning season since 1992

Did
Bonds ever hit 40 with the pirates? or was he just a 30/30 guy?

Royals/Kauffman Stadium
That’s always been a tough HR park. I think it was a real accomplishment for George Brett to hit over 300 HR’s in his career playing half of his games in Kansas City during the era in which he played.

Not a question, but....
one of my favorite trivia stats involving the Cubs was on BBT a few years back when the new pope was elected…
The Cubs are undefeated on the day after a new pope is elected.
